The Coldstones Cut is a new public art sculpture designed by Andrew Sabin and built over seven months in 2010. I was commissioned to document the construction from start to finish and the project soon developed into a series of essays based around the material, machines and construction workers themselves. The Coldstones Cut was commissioned by Hansons Aggregates and Nidderdale Visual Arts and since its opening in September 2010 has received over 35,000 visitors. In 2011, it earned two awards - The Bruntwood, Arup Arts and Business Award for Environmental Partnership, and The Marsh Award for Excellence in Public Sculpture. My book about the Coldstones Cut in Softcover and Limited Edition Hardback is available for purchase. Please contact me for details.
